Fresh celery juice contains clusters of sodium salts that fight off viruses and kill off viral overload as they travel through the small intestine and colon. These clusters are a strong antiseptic that builds a strong immune system in our bodies. Celery juice also contains a specialized vitamin C that boosts our immune system immediately. To make: Wash one bunch of celery and put through a juicer or blender. Strain juice before drinking. Drink 16 ounces of freshly juiced celery each morning on an empty stomach.
Cucumber juice has a cooling effect on our glands and organs which makes it a great fever reducer when we catch a virus. Drink plain, freshly juiced cucumber when you have a fever. To make: Wash two large cucumbers and put through juicer or blender and strain for one serving.
Eat one or two cloves of raw garlic daily. Garlic is antiviral and rich in a Sulphur compound that prevents disease. Garlic is the way to fight colds, flus and viruses and gives our immune systems a boost. Garlic can be juiced with other vegetables or chopped finely and sprinkled on steamed potatoes or vegetables.
Thyme tea and Thyme water is another amazing antiviral food that helps knock out viral loads throughout the body. It is a great tool to heal from symptoms caused by viruses. To make the Thyme Tea use two or more fresh sprigs of Thyme + 1-2 cups of hot water and optionally add fresh squeezed lemon and/or raw, unfiltered honey. Put Thyme sprigs in mug, pour hot water over and steep for 15 minutes. Remove sprigs and add lemon and/or raw honey if desired. To make the Thyme water, fill a jug or pitcher with 4-8 cups of filtered or spring water, add 2 or more bunches of fresh Thyme sprigs and allow to infuse on the kitchen counter overnight. Remove the Thyme sprigs in the morning and add fresh lemon and raw honey if desired. Berries, cucumber slices and mint can all be added if desired.
Ginger is another powerful antiviral food. Ginger can bring the body out of the reactive state which can happen when we are fighting viruses. To make Ginger Water: Grate 1 to 2 inches of fresh ginger into 2 cups of water and add the juice of half a lemon. Allow the ginger to steep for at least 15 minutes, ideally longer. Strain the water and add 2 teaspoons of raw honey if desired. Enjoy cold or warm.
